Alec Haddow spent his lifetime trying to understand the structure of Classical pipe music and how it was composed. Much of the origins of Piobaireachd were lost following the breakdown of the Highland society after the failure of the 1745 rising and Piobaireachd only survived through a handful of the manuscripts and dedicated enthusiasts.
