In 2007, McCallum Bagpipes revealed the brand new McCallum Solo Chanter. The chanter was designed and is played by one of the world's most highly decorated soloists, Willie McCallum and is engineered at their Kilmarnock factory.
Every chanteris individually tested by Willie McCallum, so you know it is fit to grace the boards of any prestigious solo competition.
After two years of intense development and testing, Willie McCallum retired his own chanter of 20 years and took the first McCallum Solo Chanter into competition at the Lochaber Gathering, winning the 'A' Grade March, Strathspey & Reel, Open Senior Hornpipe & Jig and Piobaireachd - a clean sweep of every event entered.
*Note: In Stock chanters have no sole. All chanters with sole are special order

A good band chanter too., September 27th, 2013 12:25 am By: Charlie Martin(Piper ) Read my other reviews
My Grade 5 band switched to the McC2 chanter and never looked back. Although the chanter we were using is a great chanter, the lower pitch of the McC2 meant that we stayed in the 470s to lo 480s in hot weather with 475 common during a moist winter performance. Much easier to control the band tone for lower grade players. A great all-around chanter! Hugh Metcalfe, September 26th, 2013 11:20 am By: Hugh Metcalfe(Piper ) Read my other reviews

Suiper quality chanter - reeds well and produces a very nice bright sound. There\'s a reason people keep winning big events with it - it sounds good. Great chanter, October 6th, 2010 02:54 pm By: John Elliott(Piper ) Read my other reviews

This is certainly the best chanter I have played in more than four decades. It is comfortable to play, easy to reed and has great tone. The first three reeds (from different makers) I put in this chanter all balanced nicely at 476 Hz with minimal adjustment. My all-time favourite chanter. beautiful!, September 1st, 2010 05:29 am By: Andrew Stewart(Piper 4) Read my other reviews
It's the best chanter on the market, I would highly recommend it. BEST chanter of all time!, October 5th, 2008 01:30 am By: Shawn Husk
This is my all time favorite chanter. It is simply perfect in every way! Easy to reed, great volume, excellent solo sound (lots of tone without being harsh at all). The top hand on this chanter is absolutely brilliant, just so clean and clear sounding. The pitch is perfect, 476. I really love the shape of the neck as well, it swoops up from narrow to wider at the very top, feels great under the fingers. But make no mistake the absolute best feature of this chanter is the tone! Wow. Thanks McCallum!!!! AAAAAAA+++++++++++++
