This is good stuff to use, however I personally wrap it together with yellow waxed hemp. Better than waxed hemp anyday!, February 7th, 2013 03:28 pm By: John Dennis(Piper ) Read my other reviews
I really prefer using the unwaxed hemp but running the strands through beeswax, giving the same properties but much thinner and easier to use and adjust. I have often, in a hurry or quick repair for a band member, combined waxed and unwaxed yellow hemp while hemp a joint, which works well too. Underused and underrated must for your pipe box. Lay your unwaxed hemp wraps side by side and seal off with bees wax. This gives the most airtight fit in my stocks. A must have for my pipe box, December 2nd, 2010 09:28 pm By: Colum Faris(Piper 2) Read my other reviews

I can’t understand why anyone would use unwaxed hemp any more. Changing moisture levels cause it to swell and then shrink, resulting in joints that are too tight or too loose. Move to waxed hemp, which sheds the moisture, and make your life easier. hemp, November 9th, 2008 11:16 am By: Ryan Ohare

This is the absolute best stuff to use on your tuning pins. It let's them slide up and down very easily with just the right amount of tension. A+
