These ear plugs are specifically designed for musicians.
They do not alter the character of the sound, only the volume. Professional quality.
ETYPlugs are the world’s highest fidelity non-custom earplugs.
Available in two sizes: standard-fit (blue) and large-fit (white).
All ears are different, but these two sizes fit almost 100% of ear canals.
Studies showed that the smaller of the two sizes fits the majority of ears and is now designated as "standard fit."
Ear canal size cannot be predicted by the appearance of the outer ear, or by a person’s physical size, age or gender.

I recommend these with a couple of caveats:
1) They only offer ~20dB of protection so it still seems a little loud to me sometimes -- I prefer a little more protection and as often as not, defer to the 30dB orange foamies -- it is harder to tune but slightly more comfortable.
2) These take a bit of getting used to -- they are tricky to get and to get out! Sometimes they cause a little pain when you fidget with them.
I recommend them but honestly, they are more suited to a quieter instrument and I would say are perfect for playing fiddle -- I use them all the time with that instrument. Great Value, February 12th, 2013 07:03 pm By: Adam Carriere(Piper 3) Read my other reviews
Although they aren't the most amazing earplugs on the market they are still quite good at what they do! Use them every time I play! a necessity!!, July 22nd, 2012 11:03 pm By: ralph drew
Do yourself a favor and use these ear plugs. They are a great value and work well. I played today without these and I won't be doing that again anytime soon. Buy these, they are great. Worth Every Cent, April 20th, 2012 08:14 pm By: iain McLaughlin(Piper ) Read my other reviews
Yes, you can get cheaper ear plugs, but these allow you to hear far more clearly while still reducing the volume. They can be a little tricky to insert, I find I need to grab the top of my ear while inserting these, and it helps if they are moistened before insertion (condensation from a cold beverage is enough). They took a bit of getting used to as they are a little more snug in my ears than some other kinds, but totally worth it for the clarity. hearing savior, September 2nd, 2011 11:11 am By: Olivier Dalphond(Piper 3) Read my other reviews
great for when you are playing in an arena or small indoor area. you won't have to suffer from that silly ringing in your ears afterwards. Save your ears, October 6th, 2010 03:10 pm By: John Elliott(Piper ) Read my other reviews
I switched to these from the much higher tech 'ball o' cotton' last year. It is remarkable how they reduce the volume without making the sound overly muddy. I had been considering custom made plugs at my doctors recommendation, but they are great at a fraction of the price. Hearing, November 9th, 2008 09:36 am By: Ryan Ohare
I use ear plugs every time I play my pipes. They lower the volume while still allowing the user to hear the tone. These are great. Used for years, October 30th, 2008 09:44 pm By: Patrick McLaurin(Piper ) Read my other reviews
These thing are great. They also come in a slightly smaller size called Baby Blue for those little people out there. Good for playing indoors as it not only saves your hearing but cuts out all the reverb so it sounds more like you are playing outside. Will make you a better piper because you hear all the little details as opposed to being bombarded by lots of sound. , October 16th, 2008 01:26 pm By: Maureen Ellis
Excellent ear plugs. The piper can still hear well to play, however their hearing is saved. Ear plugs, October 7th, 2008 01:14 pm By: Danielle Degoski(Piper 2) Read my other reviews

These are excellent ear plugs. You really can still hear your drones, just lower in volume! Save your hearing and still be able to tune.
