The Deluxe Airstream Blowpipes have an imitation Ivory projecting mount. This blowpipe has an oval mouthpiece design with tips to hold the blowpipe in your mouth which prevents slipping and fits the mouth more naturally. It has a 3/8" bore, making it easier to blow your pipes. The built-in Little Mac is larger to prevent any restriction.
*measurement includes mouthpiece and blowpipe together. The length is measured from the tip of the mouthpiece to the bottom of the blowpipe mount.
Great idea that could stand improvement, April 1st, 2011 11:03 am By: Peter Hraber
Because my wooden blowpipe has cracked (never force your little Mac into place), I have purchased one of these as a failsafe. It's a great idea but I have some suggestions for improvement. For one, the length measurements could be stated more accurately. Also, the plastic seam shows on mine, which looks rather shoddy. The diameter of the plastic mount is smaller and more pallid than other mounts on my pipes. Most importantly, the internal check valve does not seal completely, as the retaining assembly was not cut perpendicular to the shaft, but at a slight angle. Overall, the questionably quality does not justify the high cost. Mouth piece is comfy, October 12th, 2010 09:59 am By: John Bergen
I put one of these on my Maclellans, and found it very comfortable to play, once i nailed down the mouth piece length. The built in little mac works great and the large bore does help with blowing up my bag. Solid Airstream reliability with some style, October 6th, 2010 05:09 pm By: Ross Wilson
Basically the deluxe matches to performance of any airstream blow-pipe, its huge bore allows you to put air into the bag with minimal resistance. The artifical ivory mount is a nice touch that helps to cover up the replacement part on most pipes. The only complaint I have ever had is that the valve tends to wear out over time, with it being built into the blowpipe it is also harder to clean - mind you neither of these compliants would stop me from buying another.
