For myself and others who like to bite down on their mouthpiece and prefer playing from the center of the mouth, these oval mouthpieces are a God send. The oval shape also allows for more airflow. If you think a round mouthpiece gets in the way, try this! I find it's more convenient to wrap around with your lips and give a good seal for great air distribution. The ovalness fit will in the mouth, although the molded plastic can deform and break if you're a biter.
