The Clanrye synthetic Pipe Chanter reed is stable, consistent and not affected by moisture.
Unlike cane reeds, the tone does not depreciate with playing.
It is available in three strengths: easy, medium and strong.
Some of the reeds features are: no blowing in, excellent stability, moisture and temperature resistance, high performance, extended lifetime and adjustable balance.

Disappointed. Tried the reed in 3 different chanters without success. The E was very flat - the only way to balance the chanter would be to use much more tape than I am willing to use. Strength was as expected - ordered medium which similar to cane easy. not a lot of success with this reed, July 22nd, 2012 10:57 pm By: ralph drew
I have tried this reed, my friend sent the chanter to the maker and had them tailor made a reed for their chanter. That being said, the reed did not tune at all in this chanter. The G was incredibly sharp and made balancing this chanter impossible. Guilty Pleasure, April 20th, 2012 08:27 pm By: iain McLaughlin(Piper ) Read my other reviews
I must confess to really enjoying this reed. It\'s just a lot less trouble than cane reeds, and while it doesn\'t sound as good as cane to my ears, it\'s actually a little bit fun to play.
A cane reed it is not, and it can be extremely unstable on F and high G depending on how it\'s set in the chanter seat. It makes a bit of a challenge when it comes to playing in tune. The \"easy\" reed is also kind of scary easy.
Wouldn\'t use it for anything important, but it\'s fun to mess around with. Prefer cane, March 3rd, 2011 03:47 pm By: Fred Arnold(Piper ) Read my other reviews
I sincerely prefer cane, but I love how the piping world is evolving and looking to enhance our equipment. Great stuff for Kinnaird to offer varied products that exist on the market.
