My go-too solo reed, September 12th, 2013 09:07 pm By: Charlie Martin(Piper ) Read my other reviews
I use these in my 1969 Hardie tenors with the original Kinnaird bass drone reed. They took a little time to break in and set up but have been flawless since then. Great comments from the judges! This is the best blend I have found for solos. I use the sharper reeds to bring my drones to the proper tuning location with the higher pitched chanters of today. I've used these for a while and they have very good tone, but they are very sensitive to adjust. The bass is quite deep with a unique tone from most other reeds. Tenor reeds solid, but there's probably a better match out there for your pipes. Set the Standard, September 8th, 2013 09:27 am By: John Dennis(Piper ) Read my other reviews
Ezeedrone reeds are the staple of many a band. In my band, over half the players use these reeds. Easy to adjust, easy to set up, and maintenance free. Many people use the tenors along with a cane bass to get an optimal sound. I find the reeds a little finicky for strike ins for some newer players, and would suggest the inverted bass drone reed to cure some of that issue. worked great in my hardies, July 22nd, 2012 10:45 pm By: ralph drew
I used these reeds for a few years in a set of hardie pipes and they worked great. Plug and play. They did tend to shut off after a couple hours of play, but once I upgraded to a canister system they stopped shutting off. Would recomend as far as being a good value for the price. , July 21st, 2012 11:52 pm By: steven hill
Great reeds, I play these in Dunbar P3s. These are a especially good match for Dunbar poly pipes. They are a little tricky to set the bridles just right, but once they are set, the drones sound awesome. I recommend getting the inverted tongues, I have these in all three drones. , March 25th, 2011 04:09 pm By: Brayden Hamoline(Piper ) Read my other reviews

Best bet for a band to buy as they well with such a wide variety of pipes. They take a bit more air than some other reeds though. Popular, November 26th, 2010 01:59 pm By: Fred Arnold(Piper ) Read my other reviews
Those are popular drone reeds. They do the job well. I've upgraded to Kinnaird drone reeds, but this is a safe bet for learners especially, which in my opinion shouldn't resort to the cheapest out there or cane reeds. Solid Tenors, October 6th, 2010 05:06 pm By: Ross Wilson
Basically a staple in most pipers drones over the last decade.
The tenor reeds are unmatched for stability and ease of set-up. They produce nice harmonics and are adjustable enough that they will work with most older pipes.
While the tenors are the "bee's-knees" the bass is not. The sound produced in my Naills is far to light (an insturment known for a big bass sound). In general the bass is adequate to fill the need but for a higher end sound i would suggest passing on it in favour of a cane bass reed. One of the best sounding drone reeds with an incredibly easy set up. The standard to compare all other drone reeds to. , October 5th, 2008 12:23 am By: Shawn Husk
Excellent reed. These set the standard for a long time. A classic but they still work very well in any big bored pipe. The tenors are especially sweet. The bass drone lacks a little something but overall excellent reeds.
