The Bannatyne hide/synthetic zipper bag provides the under arm feel of a traditional hide bag without the need for seasoning.
The bag is fitted with an airtight zip, easy to fit rubber collars or grommets and a swan neck which provides a comfortable playing position.
A jar style water trap is also included.

The ergonomics of this bag leave much to be desired. It has two primary faults. #1 the natural position of the chanter is sticking out requiring you to have to hold the chanter in place. #2 the grommet for the blowpipe is of a style where it just sets in the groove of the stock allowing no repositioning. This would be find except it doesn't put the mouthpiece anywhere near your mouth. The prevalence of these bags is probably responsible for all the blowpipes coming out with ball and socket joints to get around the blowstick angle problem. Probably also why Willie McCallum collaborated with them to design his own style bag. $5 it doesn't have these two major problems. The hybrid bag is really popular in our band with those previously accustomed to a hide bag, with its heft and moisture control. The bottom zipper seems better than the side zipper as the zipper then does not come in contact with the player's forearm. Very easy to install and maintain! This is a great pipe bag. I like the feel of a hide bag, it is more substantial and balances the pipes on my shoulder better that a regular synthetic bag. It is airtight, drone stocks are easily installed, and the zipper gives access do whatever you want inside the bag, like drying it out or installing a moisture control system. This is an excellent bag! Feels like a good hide bag but has the ease of a zipper so you can get inside and use whatever moisture control device you wish. The sizes are great too, very comfortable.
