Flapper style valve that fits in the bottom of your blowpipe.
The blowpipe must be tapered to match the valve.
Some blowpipe will require reaming with a tapered reamer sold separately.

I use these in my uilleann practice set and half set. Way better than the flapper, restriction not noticeable. It fits inside the 3/4” id plastic hose that runs from bellows to bag, maybe two wraps of teflon tape for snug fit. Way to go!, April 23rd, 2009 04:01 pm By: Fred Arnold(Piper ) Read my other reviews
Don't waste your time with the flapper valve! It will bend, get out of place, get stuck to the blowpipe, etc.
Get the Lil' Mac Valve instead...easy to push in and install, air will get through easily when you blow to fill up your bag and play. Cheers! Works in a pinch, October 30th, 2008 09:32 pm By: Patrick McLaurin(Piper ) Read my other reviews
It works. It is easy to install. May be slightly air restricting, but, eh, probably not so much to tell. I always have a spare laying around. , October 5th, 2008 12:41 am By: Shawn Husk
Simple and effective. There is simply no easier way to get your blowpipe valve working right. Just stick this in the bottom and you are good to go. The diameter is a little smaller than some large bore blowpipes so there can be some very slight restriction but I\'ve never had a problem with this. Also some very small bore blowpipes might require you to ream out the bottom of it in order to install the valve.
