The Moose Valve is the Worlds first bagpipe non return valve suitable for every bagpipe set up since the original flap valve. It combines a non-restrictive flow and efficient water trap.
It installs in the blowpipe stock, not on the blowpipe itself.

My sons pipes required this little valve because of a little crack in the blowpipe. He went from the valve flap to this moose valve. What a difference this made in playing and tune. This is a nicely engineered blowpipe (stock) valve but it fails at any real moisture control in the form of a water trap. Only a 'bit' of foam is collected and that needs to be emptied very regularly as the collection space is minimal. Installed as a water trap, i.e., low in the blowpipe stock, it is incompatible with moisture control systems that require the insertion of an elbow to attach a sleeve or hose and bottle/jar. I was initially concerned about the Moose valve and how I thought it may induce cracking in the blowpipe stock. but I know just remove it after each play and swab out the blowpipe as per before. I\'ve used a Little Mac for over 20 years, but wanted to try this for its large bore and water-trap abilities. It works as described, was very easy to install, and is a change for the better. I do watch out for damage to the blowpipe stock (splitting wood) from moisture accumulation inside the stock due to the water trap and internal pressure from installation, but the Moose has served me well thus far. This is what I use and it's fantastic! Air flows easy (one way) and water is neatly trapped. Just remove the blowpipe and invert your stock to let the fluid build-up evacuate. The Moose valve is awesome. It works like a charm. Easy to insert and remove without taking your blowpipe stock out of the bag. Works as both water trap (only if you want it to) and flapper valve. This IS the best valve on the market! Extremely well made and will probably last twice as long as your pipes. It also acts as a very effective water trap. The moisture will condense on the sides of the blowpipe stock wall and will run down and get trapped inside the lip of the Moose valve. You can then simply remove your blowpipe and tip your stock upsidedown and out comes the water. Very very effective! I highly recommend this product! AAA++++
