I got the McCallum version when I ordered an it looks quite nice with some decorative turning and such. It works very well, too -- it can even fit on my smallpipes chanter. That said, it feel flimsy compared to my tank-like Dunbar reed cap! Must have!, February 16th, 2013 06:02 pm By: Sean Lowry
Always found my reeds would go moldy until my uncle told me I had to remove my chanter from my pipes and put on a chanter cap. What a difference in the life and sound of the reeds, and this cap is too easy to use. Gotta have it! , March 25th, 2011 04:07 pm By: Brayden Hamoline(Piper ) Read my other reviews

Must have to keep your reed in place in your chanter but safe from any collision. I make sure the hole is pierced at the top to let the humidity go out and avoid the reed to build mold. , September 20th, 2010 08:25 am By: Blair Campbell(Piper ) Read my other reviews
My blowpipe is removed at the end of every session to allow it and the bag to dry out properly. I use the Piper's Pal Reed Protector to keep the chanter reed moist, and one of these to protect the blowpipe flapper valve. Reed Protector, October 14th, 2009 07:15 am By: flagz2 Flaglor
