Great reeds for a beginner like me and beyond.

With that said, the easy reeds are very sensitive to pressure so if you have difficulty blowing steady you may to up the strength. .

The easy strength reeds work excellently in my old Naill chanter, literally right out of the box! Very vibrant and free blowing, no sanding or scraping was necessary to achieve a true scale.

I used this reed successfully in a Dunbar Elite II and, of course, a Shepherd MKIII. I liked it as much as my Gilmour until I stored it improperly and it got moldy. As with the Gilmour, I had to sand the Shepherd Easy a little to bring it down to my beginner strength but it remained very stable. Recommended.

I have set up a couple of solo player chanters for bandmates playing Naill blackwood chanters with this great reed. Seem to bring out the best in scale and volume with these chanters. A little quirky with moisture, but overall a solid choice.

Currently my favourite reed. It has a pleasing sound and after a brief break in period it plays quite well in my Dunbar Poly pipes. I have other reeds, but I still find myself using this as my go-to reed.
